Help picking a good hotel in Aspen?

Next winter I'm looking to be spending a week or two in Aspen when I'm off from university. I've been to Park City and Jackson Hole in previous years but I've never been to Aspen. I realize that it's an expensive ski town and, as a college student, I'm on a budget. I'm looking for a hotel with a room fit for 1-3 people around the $100 per night range. Along with some friends, I am definitely going to be snowboarding at the Aspen Snowmass mountains so I want a hotel near them because, as a young person, rental car companies aren't too keen on renting me one. I've checked out The Little Nell and The Limelight Lodge but they are way to expensive for me to stay there for more than a few days. Could I get some direction as to which hotel would be the most suitable? Thank you!

i live with my godfather, Kai, and his niece and nephew who were orphaned after their father was killed in action over seas. i live with him for summers while my parents go do their thing in the peace corps with my sisters. Kai doesnt mind this, but he feels bad that often times im stuck at home with the kids while he goes to earn a living. it sucks, but i dont mind all that much. but he does. he feels awful, but he shouldnt. what can i do to convince him that im fine? please help

If You Have A Masters In Logistics But Decided To Enlist How Do You Become An Officer Later?

The nephew of a friend of mine enlisted with a Masters In Logistics which I thought was a bit strange - with that sort of qualification I thought he would have looked at being an officer. But it seems he feels he needs to mature before taking on the leadership responsibility of an officer. After thinking about it it may not be a bad idea. But out of curiosity exactly how would he become an officer when he decides he is ready. Does that sort of qualification make is pretty much a forgone concusion or doesnt it really count for much?
