How can i find out the punishment a driver got for knocking down and killing my nephew?

A 19 year old driver, knocked down and killed my 16 year old nephew. I live around 300 miles away from the area that it happened, so dont have local news. How do i find out if the driver just got away with it, or if he's been punished in any way? I don't want to ask my sister as its still to raw, and i just dont think its my place. Im not obviously going to DO anything it would just put my mind and rest knowing wether or not he was punished. It happened back in February of this year so some time has past since the incident, i have tried to search in google for news headlines or something, but just can't get anything up, just the actual story of when it happened, and all that says was that the driver was 19 from Solihull and he wasn't hurt! Any help would be much appreciated, thanks, :]
