What should I do about my nephew?

Ok so my nephew is like my brother. He is 3 years older than me and looks out for me all the time. The only thing is he lives 40 miles away from me. So I don't get to see him very much. I try to talk to him on facebook but he is rarely on. He tells me that I should call him but I really don't want to bother him. He has a very busy life. He has a job and a girlfriend that he is real serious about. He wants to take me out to a movie and dinner or something. We were going to go for his birthday , but his birthday was in may and may came and went. He never took me any where. Now I don't want to sound selfish but it kind of bothers me when he promises me things that he doesn't keep. And the only way that I see him is if I call him and ask if he wants to go camping or something. Or I also see him during holidays such as Chrismas and my birthday. My birthday is coming up and I'm afraid that he is going to have to work. He said that he was going to be there on my birthday but I am doubting him more and more every day. Do you think he will keep the promises he makes me such as coming to my birthday and taking me to the movies. Should I call him?? Do you think that I am a bother?
